Forty vendors sell artisan jewelry, gems, minerals and fossils. Education projects include:
• Free rock identification kits to area science teachers.
• A demonstration area to learn how to cut and polish rocks, to facet stones and jewelry making.
• Activity Center where children make jewelry, dig for small fossils and learn about rocks.
• Fluorescent Room where attendees view brightly glowing rocks under long and short-wave lights.
• Silent auction to economically bid on minerals, gems, and fossils.
• Display cases of collections of minerals, rocks, fossils, dinosaur bones, and personal lapidary work.
