OKC Modern Quilt Guild is a member guild of the national Modern Quilt Guild, sharing in the mission to support and encourage the growth and development of modern quilting through art, education, and community.

The heart of modern quilting is innovation, and the emphasis is on design and originality. A modern quilt will embody one or more of the characteristics often seen in modern quilting: bold use of color, high contrast & graphic areas of color, minimalism, maximalism, modern traditionalism, improvisational piecing, expansive negative space, and alternate grid work.

Our quilt show will feature 100+ quilts in our Primary Exhibit of five show categories: Improvisation, Modern Traditionalism, and Alternate Grid, Small Quilts, “It’s all in the Details”, and “Maybe Modern”. The Self Portrait Project and Round Robin Quilts will be our two Special Exhibits.

Our show is presented by: Legit Kits and World Wiedner.

There will be vendors, a gift boutique, and two raffle quilts: “Skydance Bridge” and “Indian Blanket”. Raffle Tickets are $1 each, or 6 for $5. The raffle drawings will take place Saturday, at 4 p.m.
